Pembroke Pines, FL.
The Miami Outlaws Elite take the title in week 2 of the Cooperstown Dreams Park tournament. The Outlaws finished #2 out of 104 teams in the seedings after the first 6 games, going into bracket play with a confident 6-0 start. As fate would have it, they would meet the #1 seeded Tampa Tribe in the championship after defeating 4 solid teams to get to that final game.

The Outlaws' road to the championship included two playoff games where they defeated opponents in "walk-off" fashion, both times in the bottom of the 6th inning. Damian Hernandez, the Outlaws' third baseman, was the culprit of both walk off hits to won both bracket playoff games.

After finally reaching the coveted championship game. The Outlaws faced a tough Tampa Tribe team that had "run-ruled" every opponent in the previous 10 games of the tournament. In fact, the Tribe had yet to go more than 4 innings in any of their games.

The first 2 innings were a pitching duel, leaving the game at 0-0. Tampa's pitcher had already struck out 5 Outlaw batters. The Tribe took the lead with a 3 run blast over the center field fence, making the score 3-0.  The Outlaws answered back with a solo HR, followed by 2 hits in the 4th causing the Tribe coach to pull their starting pitcher. Their next pitcher loads the bases with the Outlaws 4th batter coming to the plate. Dominic Sorondo, the 4th batter, answers the call with a grand slam homerun that soared over the main scoreboard, giving the Outlaws a 5-3 lead. The Outlaws kept their sticks going and never looked back, as they finished the Tampa Tribe with a whopping score of 13-5.

The Miami Outlaws not only brought the championship trophy home to South Florida, they also won the Around the Horn skills competition with a 20.23 second performance. Way to go Outlaws!
