The Hollywood Heat came in as the # 1 seed team in the 12u Premier Division, but ran into the Parkland Pokers on Saturday and was dealt the first loss in the double elimination playoff format. Sunday morning they were dealt with another blow with one of their 9 eligible players not able to make it, which meant they would have to go and play with 8 players and take an out...........so all in all not a god start on Sunday morning.

The tough minded Coaches and players from this team were not to be denied, they took on a well Coached Weston Hawks Black and managed to sneak out an 8-6 win in what was a surprised to many of us. So, with 8 players they move on to take on the team that took them down on Saturday and what a game it was as they both continued to push runs and ended it in a 6-6 tie and on to the California tie-brekers. The Pokers came up short and didn't score in their at bat. The Heat's Christopher Rosario led off the Inning with a line drive base hit and on came up the "Big Stick" of Sam Mandel who Blasted a two run Bomb over the left center field fence to walk-off and defeat the Pokers to force a third and decisive game between these two teams. The third and Final game of the day for these two teams was not as dramatic, but what a pitching duel as both teams fought hard to a 1-0 win for the Hollywwod Heat. The win marked the third consecutive trip to the Championship Game and winning 2 of 3 Championships.

Congratulations to the Hollywood Heat and the Parkland Pokers on an amazing Playoff Championship and an unbelievable Sportsmanship on both sides.
