The 12U Miami Cyclones travel team recently completed a successful 2nd place finish in the 2008 Tidal Wave Tournament at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, SC. The Cyclones only allowed 27 runs in posting an impressive 6-2 record before losing to the Georgia Outlaws 7-6 in the Championship Game.
Gil Polanco and Nik Haber lead the pitching staff with a 2-0 record and a 1.25 ERA. Joe Diaz,Austin miro and Israel Santana lead the hitting star as the team scored 85 runs during the tournament. In addition, in team's (Catcher) israel Santana won the HR Derby Contest in the NIKE Skills competition with 7 home runs
The Cyclones of the South Florida Premier League and coached by Jerry Enriquez, Emilio De Leon and Rick Palacios, have had an impressive summer as they also won the 2008 Key West Challenge in June and was the Runner up of the Bulldogs Brawl just a few weeks back.
