CS Diamonds Billy Atkins Shuts the door on Renegades............ Trevor Kane was spectacular

The Coral Springs Diamonds came back after a disappointing, but very much helpful experience when they played and lost to the defending league Champion Weston Hawks on Wednesday night, today they faced another very tough team in the 14U division in the SF Renegades, but this time they held their own and came up with a 3-2 win over the Renegades. Trevor Kane was crusing with a 3-1 lead but in the fifth Inning allowed the second run for the Renegades on a fielder's choice and cruised until the bottom of the seventh when the catcher for the Renegades Nikko Rivera lead off the Inning with a double off the right center field fence. The Renegades made an unsuccessful attempt to move the runner over and the batter struck out, with one out Manager Butch Kopei went to his bullpen and brought in Billy Atkins. Billy quickly got the batter to fly out to center field for the second out and the final out was recorded on  a ground ball to short stop Brandon Diaz giving the CS Diamonds their 4th win of the season to Improve to( 5-2 ) in the 14U Central Division, the Renegades fell to (1-3)

The Diamonds continue on their pursuit of the Elite 24 birth. The Diamonds have already committed to play in Michigan in June to try a win out a birth for the Elite 24 Championship that will take place in late July in Kissimmee. The Diamonds will try and qualify as 13u team, but are getting ready in league play by playing in the 14U division.
