Battle of the Heavyweights in the 10U.........Dynasty vs Rallers " Maroon"

I have to admit, last night's game b/w Rattlers "Maroon" and Dynasty was a true thriller from the start and a very competitive game that went 5 1/2 innings.  The two starting pitchers, along with flawless defense, took the game into a scoreless 4th inning.  Hard hitting resonated from both clubs but, when Tommy Taborda hit two batters, he loaded the bases where the next Dynasty batter got a hold of a bomb and cleared the bases with a well earned Grand Slam!
Needless to say, that was tough, but that was also "Baseball" as that was Dynasty's 2nd of only two hits that entire ball game.  When the Rattlers "Maroon" came to bat the very next inning, as with every inning, the bats came alive; however, this inning we started to hit the gaps better and bomb a few of our own.  Freddie "Choppy" Sultan got a hold of a fast ball and drove the ball deep into left center which took off.  He raced around third but was held up (the throw was off the plate).  Two batters later John Ham, with two strikes on him, bombed his own shot over left field and cleared the bases with a 2 run shot.  Then, the very next batter, Brett Kean, got a hold of another laser bomb in the left field gap and, if it weren't for his stumble comming around third, he would have scored a back-to-back home run!  He eventually did score and we were down only 3-5.
In the end, we held them going 3 up / 3 down in the bottom of the 5th and with runners on in the top of the 6th, they sorted through three outs to win the very exciting game.  Point is, both teams are Elite "Heavyweight" Teams and each team demonstrated a very high level of error-free baseball, mental fortitude and a no-prisoner mentality that each respected out of each other.  A true gem in which neither team wilted whatsoever!  Coach Jose Vera summed it up very well, "We out hit them, but in one inning we hit two batters and it took one swing of the bat to score all but one of their runs.  Guess what, That's Baseball Guys!"
Hats off to both teams, as we look forward to hosting Dynasty, in Weston, on Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm on April 22nd.
