8U CS Sandlot and Parkland Pokers open up with a double header

The Coral Springs Sandlot and the Parkland Pokers Inagurated the 8Under division this past weekend in Terramar Park. These are two very talented teams, that going to see a lot of each other for years to come. Here is a recap of their first meeting.

The SF Sandlot defeated the Parkland Pokers in a Double Header, where our hitting in the Coach Pitch pretty much dominated, and the Kids Pitching in the second game was the biggest factor. The Pokers is a brand new team with a lot of talented players but the experiance of the Sandlot took control from the first Pitch.  We threw a total of 86 pitches with 5 different kids pitching. Our starting pitcher ( Robbie ) threw 12 pitches facing 4 batters and having 2 strike outs with 1 hit, next we threw in a child that can throw hard ( Max ) he had some control issues to start having 2 strike outs, hitting 2 kids but giving up no runs and only 1 walk, then we threw (Jordan) Jordan has a unique style throw not to fast but very accurate throwing for only 36 pitches and he pitched for 2 innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits and 1 strike out. Next, we brought in our most consistant pitcher ( Louie ) he threw 8 Pitches giving up no runs and no walks with 1 strike out. Finally, we threw a child (Greg Budden) who has nice accuracy and good machanics and he threw 10 pitches with 1 strike out and 1 walk.

We came out the second game focused on hitting and that is what we did with 11 multi-base hits and striking out 2 times and walking 13 times. The first game we had 26 hits with 1 HR, 5 triples, 5 doubles and  15 singles. The Pokers have a nice group of coaches and we wish them all the Luck on the future of there team.
