St. Lucie Storm Defeats PPO Blue 5-1

Pembroke Pines, FL.

St. Lucie Storm Spencer Adderly chats as to how big he was seeing the ball today

In a highly contested match the St. Lucie Storm defeated the #1 seed PPO Bengals Blue 5-1. The Bengals led 1-0 until the top of the fourth when a base hit by Austin Brendlinger leading off the 4th Inning started what led to a 3-1 lead after 4 innings. The Bengals pitching staff had a hard time throwing strikes as the Storm walked 4 times in the last two Innings and were help by several errors by the Bengals defense.  The bright spot for the Bengals was their starter Mark Diaz who kept the Storm in check until the 4th Inning with 4K's, 4H, 2BB. The Storm starter and game winner Josh Clair kept the Bengals in check and Ziggy Thomas came in relief to preserve the win and send the Storm to the quarterfinals next week against the winner of Mo Steel vs Weston Hawks.

Congratulations to Coach Elliot and the PPO Bengals Blue on a great season.
