Cobras Run Away With Fall Nationals Championship.....13u Parkland Pokers go 5-0

Pembroke Pines, FL. The 9u West Pines Cobras ran away this weekend in the USSSA Fall Nationals. The Cobras went 4-0 scoring 42 runs and allowing just 10.

The Cobras  defeated the Cooper City Cowboys in the Championship Game. In other exciting and surprising games...well at least surprising to me as I went 1-6 in my predictions. The All-Stars defeated the West Broward Warriors 3-1 in a very close and well played game. The 11u division had the Ring chasing Miami Outlaws Elite reached their goal as they would take on the PL Bulldogs in the finals and come out on top 8-4 to win it, this after coming off a heck of a ball game against FS Elite where they won 2-1 with FS Elite loading the bases in the last Inning.

In the 12 Under division another classic game in the semifinals as Nelia Peralta with the PL Bulldogs had a terrific pitching performance against the SF Storm, but after 6 Innings the game was tied as the PL Bulldogs tied it on a wild pitch, but the talented SF Storm would not be denied, they fought off the Bulldogs and went 9 Innings to win the semifinal game 6-5. The Storm would face the newly formed West Pines Cobras playing in their second Tournament and a well contested game the Storm beat the Cobras.

The 13u Division with 14 teams in the pool had the Parkland Pokers victorious as they beat a talented PBG Thunder team. The Pokers went 5-0 and beat a very good Florida Elite team in the semi finals when they scored 8 runs in the 6th Inning to break a 5-5 tie. The Pokers played solid baseball throughout the tournament.

The 14 Under Division had the Weston Rattlers and Mo Steel battle in the Championship Game and with plenty of fireworks on both sides. The Rattlers defeated Mo Steel to win it all and finished the Tournament with a 4-0-1 record.

Congratulations to all participants and specially to ALL the CHAMPIONS !!
