Championship Sunday in the FPBL...Who's Talking Home the Hardware?

Pembroke Pines, FL.
On a gloomy day with passing showers, a few teams were surprised and others lived another day. The threat of rain was there all day and on a few occasions I thought we would have to end the playoffs, but we made it to Sunday !

Lots of excitement with the older divisions as some of the top teams or teams that some thought would end up winning went down, but not without a fight.

The Florida Revenge14u who backed into the playoffs due in part to a team that forfeit one of their games made the best of their opportunity on Saturday as they led a 6-0 lead get away, but would fight back in extra Innings to defeat Bengals Blue 10-6. In another surprise,  Xtreme Baseball School 14u the number 8th seed defeated the # 1Weston Rattlers White 4-1 these two winners will face each other this morning for the rights to the advance to the Championship game. On the other side of the bracket with 2-outs in the last Inning The Box Elite fought back to tie the game at 7-7 with a two out double, but the Parkland Pokers scored in their last at bat on an errant throw from to the catcher to second base. The Pokers will take on the West Pines Cobras a winner against the Miami Rays.

The 16-Team Bracket in the 13u Division was cut in half yesterday as 8 teams went down with a few surprises as well. The number one seed Parkland Pokers went down to the Ft. Lauderdale Lightning 6-2 Also, going down was the number 3 seed West Boca Panthers to the Weston Rattlers Maroon. On cruise control the  #4 seed Industriales defeated the Plantation Stars Gold 6-0 and the #2  Hollywood Heat won a pair of tough games yesterday to move on to  the semifinal game.
