12U Bulldogs End As Champions
The Pembroke Lakes 12u Bulldogs arrived to Myrtle Beach South Carolina on July 29th for their last tournament as 12u’s.  They were part of 32 teams that competed in the 2012 Ripken Experience Wave Rider Baseball Tournament.  The Bulldogs started the tournament with dominating wins against teams from Massachusetts, New Jersey, West Virginia, Illinois and Indiana finishing pool play scoring 74 runs and only allowing 7 to be scored.   Going into elimination games, the Bulldogs were seeded #1 and certain to meet the best of the other groups in the tournament.
The elimination games were won with great bats by Luis Palacio and Nicolas Dominguez that had three home runs each and Jose Zamora with two home runs along with one home run by Carlos Pujol and Corey Clement.  In addition the pitching staff for the Bulldogs came through with dominating performance given by Jason Chandillal, Jordan Rodriguez, Carlos Su and Danny Garcia.  And let’s not forget the super defensive play by Carlos Pujol at Catcher; Isaiah Perry at 2nd Base and Christopher Nappi at Centerfield that repeatedly made outstanding plays to stop opponents from scoring.
Their first game in elimination games was against the Minnesota Rebels and New Jersey Braves who were a top teams in their group to win 19 – 1 and 9 -3 to advance into the semi-final game against the West Coast Warriors of Florida who finished seeded #4 in the tournament.  The game against the Warriors was a battle but the Bulldogs rallied to take a 9 – 4 win and reach the championship game.
In the championship game, the Bulldogs faced the Kissimmee Braves who were seeded #2 in the tournament and dominated their group play.  The championship game was a close battle throughout but the Braves were unable to overcome the excellent pitching provided by Luis Palacio who pitched a complete game striking out 6 Braves.  But that was not all he did in the game as he stung the Braves with two home runs in the games lifting the Bulldogs to a 5 – 3 victory for the Championship. The Bulldogs Luis Palacio was named the tournament MVP for his dominating play in all game finishing the tournament with 5 home runs and pitching a game that stopped the opponents from challenging the Bulldogs on their way to the Championship.

The Bulldogs would not have gone so far without the excellent Coaching of Miguel Palacio and Lester Clement and the unconditional support of great parents.
