Two Former FPBL Players Go in the First Round......Dream Comes True


Albert Almora and Nick Travieso were drafted in the first round of the MLB First Year Player Draft. Albert Almora a center fielder who played his HS ball at Matter Academy was drafted by the Chicago Cubs as the # 6 player and Nick Travieso a pitcher played for Archbishop McCarthy was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds as the # 14 player over all in the first round.

These two players first played in the FPBL back when the league started in '03. Albert played with the Hialeah Chiefs and later played with the Broward Bulldogs Coached by Alex Fernandez, while Nick Travieso Played with the SF Renegades and finished his travel ball days with the Weston Hawks Coached by Ed Marti.

Congratulations to both players and their families on this great accomplishment.
