Miami Lakes Outlaws Win Thanksgivng Turkey Shoot-Out
Miami Lakes Outlaws 8u capture another title as they defeated the Cobras
14-11 in the Thanksgiving Shoot Out Championship Game. The Outlaws went
4-0 in the tournament and outscored their opponents 48-15. The Outlaws
had to face the Cobras in the seeding games the day before and defeated
them 9-3, another 10-0 win against the South Florida Stars gave them the
#1 seed. They defeated the Coconut Creek Hawks 16-1 in the first round
to put them in the championship game for a rematch against the Cobras.
This was a hard fought battle to the end as the Outlaws took a 7-0 early
lead but the Cobras fought back as they scored 5 in the 3rd to make it a
7-5 game. The Outlaws scored one more run in the 4th and scored 3 in
the 5th but the Cobras kept fighting back as they scored one in the 4th
and another 5 runs in the 5th to tie the game at 11 a piece. The Outlaws
fought hard and manufactured 3 runs in the top of the 7th as Eddie
Rueda hit a double, Anthony Ruiz hit a single and Marlon Miranda hit a
monster triple all back to back to back! Marlon later scored and the
final was 14-11 as the Outlaws held the Cobras scoreless in the bottom
of the 7th. The tournament MVP was Marlon Miranda as he was on fire
going 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 triples in the game. Another honorable
mentions were Eddie Rueda who also went 4-4 with 3 doubles and a single,
Anthony Ruiz also went 4-4, Ephraim Bravo went 3-4 with a Home Run,
Joey Mincey went 3-4 and Devin Catoni went 2-3 with two big doubles. The
Outlaws continue to win and prove that they are a force to reckon with
in their division.
