Team Easton keeps on rolling!!

When the fall season began Team Easton was classified as a AAA team. By winning the Fall Nationals in addition to 4 USSSA tournaments in a row, Team Easton was promoted to the Majors classification. Since then Team Easton has played well against many talented 11U and 12U teams; finishing 2nd in Florida Premier League playoffs (majors) and placing in the top 3 in many USSSA events. In the past 6 weeks Team Easton has traveled all over the state; playing in locations from Tamiami to Kissimmee and the Indian reservation in Okeechobee.

Starting in Jupiter’s Memorial Day Tournament Team Easton played some very solid teams including the Coral Springs Inferno, Jupiter Hammerheads and Palm Beach Rebels; going 5 and 0 Team Easton would win the 1st of 3 championships to follow.

The next stop Team Easton traveled to “The Battle on the Indian Reservation” hosted by the Florida Rays in Okeechobee; going 4 and 0 Team Easton won their 2nd title in 3 weeks. This tournament drew some of the strongest South Florida teams; Team Easton beat the Piranaz in the semi final winning 10 to 2. Team Easton would then beat the mighty Florida Rays in the championship game, out hitting one of the most potent offenses around winning 12 to 8!!

Team Easton was on their way to Tamiami to play in the Sate Tournament where they placed 3rd, losing to West Pines Cobras 5 to 4 in the semi-finals. Team Easton would get to avenge their loss to West Pines this past weekend in the “After School Brawl” held at Lantana Sports Complex. Team Easton won this event going 4 and 0 beating the West Pines Cobras twice, once in seeding and once in the semi's. Also defeating the Piranaz in seeding. Team Easton would line up against the SF Sugarcanes in the championship. This would be one of the most competitive games of the year for Team Easton. With their ace Paul Lanoce on the mound, Team Easton would beat the SF Sugarcanes 3-2. Paul Lanoce set the tone of the game, not only with stellar pitching only giving up on 2 runs in 6 innings, but also with a 3 run homerun in the 1st inning. However, this was a total team effort with fantastic defensive plays by Krishna Raj, Damien Allione, Justin Anglin and Josh Dubinsky. The catching was unbelievable through this entire tournament led by MJ Restivo and Matthew Weber. Pitching and Hitting in key moments enabled Team Easton to win to this tournament with great performances by Alex Garces, Paul O’Connor, Josh Hernandez, Paul Lanoce, David Rodriguez, Krishna Raj, Devin Blair, Justin Anglin, Damian Allione, Josh Dubinsky, MJ Restivo and Matt Weber. Throughout the entire tournament Team Easton showed a commitment to excellence on the field while still having fun as a team. Great job boys!!! GO FPBL!!!
