In their opening game of the USSSA Tamiami Spring Slam Qualifier the Weston Hawks 9u (Red) beat the Miami Cobras 12-0 behind a No-Hitter by left hander Eric Verdera. Eric allowed just one base runner on a walk and had 4 strikeouts to dominate the powerful Cobra hitters. The Hawks played flawless defense behind Eric and let their bats seal the victory pounding in 12 runs. "
The Hawks went on to defeat the PPO Bengals in the Championship Game 12-4
