Baseball Community loses a "Loved Baseball Mom"
You knew that whenever the 13u Weston Red-Hawks were playing a game Amanda Haworth would be there, whether it was keeping the score book for Coach Frank Defefe or cheering on her son and teammates, a true Baseball Mom, dedicated to her son and job, Amanda Haworth lost her life in a call duty on Thursday Jan 20th.
Amanda and fellow officer Roger Castillo were both shot to death as they were serving a warrant to Johnny Simms wanted for murder charges. The suspect open the door and started shooting at the officers killing then both.
Our condolences & blessings go out the families of Amanda and fellow officer Roger Castillo.
There will be a memorial service for both officers held on Monday 11AM at the Miami Airlines Arena. A viewing has been for Roger Castillo will take place on Sunday 7PM at Vista Memorial Gardens in Miami Lakes. The viewing for Amanda Haworth has not been set.
