The 11U West Pines Cobras went undefeated (5-0) to take the championship trophy in the 3^rd Annual USSSA Cobra Heartbreaker Tournament this past weekend. The best of South Florida teams participated to include the Florida Pokers, Piranaz, South Florida Extreme, Palm Beach Sugar Canes and PPO Bengals. The Cobras put it all together with solid defense, pitching and exceptional hitting all tournament long. Cobras overwhelmed their opponents by scoring 55 runs and only allowing an average of 2. After several hard fought battles between teams in the playoff brackets, the Cobras and Sugar Canes make it and collide in the championship game. Again with outstanding defense and pitching, the Cobra squad came out on top defeating the Sugar Canes with a score of 10-2. MVP honors were awarded to Sugar Canes Xavier Edwards(Nike Diamond Elite Glove) and Cobra- Mark Vientos (Nike Bat – Cherry Bomb). Congratulations to the Cobra boys in their tournament win! Great job to the coaching staff for their efforts in preparing for the Spring 2011 Season.

The 11U West Pines Cobras now move up to 4^th place in the USSSA Florida’s Power Rankings and look forward to compete in the next USSSA event, Bulldog Brawl V at Pembroke Lakes,  on the arduous road to a chance of the USSSA Elite 32 World Series this summer.
