The ML OUTLAWS 8u team went 4-1 in the USSSA Pembroke Lakes Bulldog Brawl V Tournament to win the Championship game. The Outlaws faced stiff competition right out of the gate as they faced the WP Cobras (W 8-4) on Tuesday and the PL Bulldogs (L 12-4) on Thursday. With the number 4 seed, the Outlaws faced the PL Wildcats in the first round of the play-offs. The bats came alive on Saturday as they pounded the Wildcats 9-1. This would set the stage for a Sunday morning rematch against the Bulldogs once again. The Outlaws came out to an early lead and protected that lead through out the entire game. Amazing defense and solid hitting decided the winner of this hard fought battle between two great teams. The only thing between the Outlaws and another Championship now was the Cobras who defeated the Weston Hawks to get to the big dance. The Outlaws came out on a tear as they scored 6 runs in the first inning to go ahead. The Cobras did not go down without a fight as the game was close to the very end. Once again the Outlaws played D and protected their lead which they never lost. Two great teams battled until the very last inning, as Outlaws came out victorious 11-10 and brought home a hard earned championship trophy. It was a hugh team effort to win this tournament and every player played a major role, but one player really shined. Carlos Rey, tore it up as he hit a Homerun, 2 triples and multiple doubles to earn the MVP title. Honorable Mentions go to Gaby Santana, Max Guillen and Johnathan Mustelier who also had some clutch at bats. Thanks to all the coaches and parents that make this winning organization so great!
