Coral Springs Sea Dogs First Win
The Sea Dogs, who have steadily improved in each of their first six games this season, battled back and forth against the 2nd place Plantation Stars. Led by the stellar pitching of Justin Gonzalez, who went three (3) strong innings, the Sea Dogs played their best defensive game of the year. Major league plays by second baseman Gavin Werner and a laser throw from center fielder Daryl Carney to 3rd baseman Damian Rodriguez, helped preserve the win by catching a Stars runner trying to advance to scoring position. Zack Adams followed the relief pitching of Brandon Nunez to close out the game with two (2) masterful innings that included a strike out to win the game. Chris Archer's bat came alive with two monster shots that sparked the Sea Dogs offense. The final score was 7-6 with all Sea Dogs contributing to their first victory of the season.
