Plantations Stars 10U won the
Knights Challenge in Hollywood with a 13-1 victory over the PPO
Bengals in the Championship game.
The Stars won 3 games on Sunday by a combined score of 33-7. Outstanding pitching in the three games
from Alex Romance, Nate Thomas, and Matt Whitney. Offensively, the Stars were lead by
Chris Ferara that hit 4 balls over 225 feet in the five games. RJ Taylor had key
hits including a double to lead off the championship game to set the tone. The Stars played solid fundamental
baseball with contributions from Blake Holowicki laying down perfect bunts. Ben Hernandez and Anthony Fazzio also
had multi-hit games. Anthony Ahari threw two base runners at 2nd in
one inning before falling to injury over the weekend. Two newcomers to the team,
Seth Brizel and Brandon Auerbach played solid defense and had key hits to keep
innings alive. Stars will
travel next to Cooperstown, New York to compete in the Cooperstown Dreams Park, a national youth baseball tournament
June 17 thru June 24.
