Led by two stellar bunts in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Coral Springs Sea Dogs defeated the Plantation Stars 8-7 under the lights at Cypress Park on Friday night. Daryl Carney led off the final inning with a well placed bunt. Justin Gonzalez, who had two hits in the game moved Daryl to 2nd base. Daryl made it to 3rd on a stolen base.Damian Rodriguez stepped to the plate with the squeeze play on, and laid down a perfect bunt with Daryl racing home home for the winning run.
The Sea Dogs pitchers turned in another stellar performance led by Zack Adams who went 3 innings and stuck out the side in the 3rd inning. Brandon Nunez did a great job in relief following by a clutch closing performance by Luis Fuentes.
Max Penagos and Kyle Crosno added to the offensive fire power with key hits and hustle on the bases.
The big win sets up an exciting rematch on Wednesday when the Sea Dogs travel to Plantation to face the Stars for the final time this season.
