The Weston Red Hawks 11U, coached by Jorge Prieto and Cesar Hernandez, capped off a successful regular season with a solid team effort to win the AAA South Division championship.
After going 14-2-1 during regular season play and earning the top seed in the Division Championship, the team turned in strong pitching performances, smart base running, outstanding team defense and timely hitting to defeat the WPPO Cobras 5-1 in the semi-finals. The Hawks carried the momentum into the finals with seven runs in the first three innings en route to victory over the Weston Rattlers Black 8-1 and were crowned Division Champions.
The boys eagerly await the opportunity to represent the South Division in the League Championship next weekend.
