Fort Lauderdale Lightning Come from Way Back to Win 12U South Division Playoff
The Fort Lauderdale Lighting returned from the short end of a 7 run deficit to defeat the regular season champion Parkland Pokers 11-10 in the bottom of the 6th late Sunday night. After the Pokers jumped out to leads of 7-1 and 8-2 the Lightning never surrendered and chipped away at those leads, finally knotting the score at 10-10 in the bottom of the 5th. Logan O'Neil struck out two Pokers with his last 15 pitches of the day, then handed the ball off to Shane Williams to retire the only Poker he faced. Williams capped off a tremendous day of baseball by scoring the championship winning run in the bottom of the inning. Hats off to both teams for an exciting championship contest.
