Panama Mutiny Runs the Table in Gainesvile
Miami Lakes, FL.
This past weekend the city of Gainsville, Florida hosted the USSSA North Florida DUAL SUPER NIT where the winners would qualify for a bid to the prestigious 2014 Elite World Series to be played at Walt Disney World, Florida. 19 top teams in the South Eastern United States made their appearance but only one came out 6-0 and capture the Championship, the Miami Lakes Optimist, Panama Mutiny Elite.
The Mutiny had early pool game wins against the Orlando Stingers (11-2) and Orlando's top team Central Florida Wolverines (11-7). The Mutiny started elimination games against the Stealth National winning 8-5 on a walk off 3 run homerun in extra innings. Then the Mutiny K.O. Tampa's Florida Heat 10-2 and where Mutiny's pitchers stopped all chances the Florida Heat had. Next, was one of the tournament's favorite, Team Florida. In this game, they Mutiny pitched a 2 hitter against Team Florida and won by KO (9-1). Finally, the Mutiny advanced to the Championship game where they beat previously undefeated Tampa's Spartans Pro, 4-3 in extra innings.
Congratulations to the Mutiny, their parents and their coaching staff on this exceptional win. The Mutiny is ranked # 1 in the country in the latest USSSA rankings.
