Pembroke Pines, FL. A total of 20 known former FPBL players were drafted in the 2014 First Year Player Draft.
In the Final Day of the Draft Weston resident Jose Brizuela a standout at Archbishop McCarthy and at Florida State University was taken in the 16th round by the Okland A's. Also drafted were a couple of players who played together and against each other in the FPBL and  went to Lander University,  Erik Lunde was taken by the Pittsburg Pirates in the 18th round and former Husky player Patrick Grady was taken by the Tampa Devil Rays in the 33rd round. My own son Tyler Palmer was taken in the 21st round by the Los Angeles Angels, Chris Riopedre a former Broward Bulldogs and Pace High School player was taken in the 23rd round by the Washington Nationals. Kirvin Moesquit was picked up by the Minnesota Twins in the 36th round Kirvin still in HS attending Highlands Christian School. In the 38th round the Tigers got former Major league's son Magglio Ordonez jr. and on the 40th round the Houston Astros picked one of the best hands I've witness in college ball UM's second baseman and former Mizuno player Alex Hernandez, going to the Reds in the same round was Michael Mediavilla and Brandon Vicens  went to Reds as well in the 35th round. Vicens played for the PPO Bengals and West Pines Cobras and recently graduated from American Heritage.
