West Pines Cobras 14u wins USSSA Labor Day Bash
West Pines, Fl.
It was an exciting tournament for the Cobras who started slow with a loss in their first seeding game but finished off the tournament winning 4 games in a row. The championship game was a see saw battle against the Weston rattlers maroon. The cobras got out to an early 8-1 lead until the rattlers battled back to tie the game at the end of the sixth inning. It was all square with one inning to play with the cobras batting first and quickly got runners on base but with two outs the cobras came up with two extra base hits to score 4 runs and starting pitcher Luis Moriyon went the distance in the bottom half of the 7th inning only giving up 1 run in the frame for the complete game win. 12-9. Congrats to the cobras a team on the rise!
