8U Pines All-Stars go 9 Innings to defeat Miramar...........
The league playoffs got underway tonight with some very close games. The 12U Plantation Stars edge out the Ft. Lauderdale Wahoo's in a 1-0 affair, while the 12U Broward Extreme beat the Pasadena Panthers in 7 innings. The game ended in regulation at 7-7 the Extreme held Pasadena scoreless in the top of the 7th Inning when the right fielder threw out the batter after he lined a base hit to right field to prevent the runner from scoring. The Extreme would score on their at bat with a base hit to the left side that eluded the left fielder to win the game 8-7. In another thriller of a game, the Pines All-stars came back to beat Miramar 6-5 in 8-Innings in Coach Pitch.
With Pines leading 3-1 in the last Inning Miramar fought back and score 3 runs in their last at bat to take a 4-3 lead, but the lead didn't last long as Pines came back and tie the game at 4-4 Both teams came out in the 8th Inning and would not score, but in the bottom of the ninth Pines held Miramar scoreless and would get one run in to beat them 6-5. Pines advances to face Wellington on Saturday.
In other games 13U Plantation Stars defeated PSN, also, the Cooper City Cowboys shot down the Warriors 3-1 and the 10U SF Predators got past the Bengals 10-7 while in the 12U AAA the Margate Titans defeated CC Cowboys 13-6. The 9U West Pines Cobras defeated the West Boca Panthers 7-3 to advance to the semifinals against the winner of the Pokers & Brawlers match.
