10U Sandlot.................USSSA Labor Day CHAMPIONS!!!



The first USSSA Tournament of the fall season got underway this Labor Day Weekend and despite an almost total wash-out on Sunday........Tournament Director John Valeo GOT IT DONE !
After a long day on Sunday, where only a hand full of games were played because of the rain, Monday Labor Day was the day where the creme rose to the top and many of the top teams In the Premier League Baseball League took home the hardware.

The 9under division had the Bears defeating  Team Renteria in a tough game were leads were exchange several times after the Bears jumped on Team Renteria 8-1, but Team Renteria  fought back to tie the game at 8-8, but in the end the Bears prove to be the better of the two teams in this event.

10under division had two of the leagues old rivals in the Championship Game........the West Boca Panthers defeated a tough Hialeah Tigers team to advance to the Championship Game against the Sandlot who defeated the Weston Rattlers team 11-4 to advance to the Championship Game against the Panthers. The Sandlot defeated the Panthers in a well played game.

The 11under division had the powerhouse West Pines Nike Cobras come up on top, after defeating the team that was the talk of the tournament, the Boca Blue Lightning a team that defeated some of the better teams in the tournament. The Lighting fought hard in this match, but in the end Nike came up on top.

The 12under division had some of the league past Champions square off in the semis when the Dynasty Elite and the Cobras met, but in this occasion the Cobras defeated Dynasty. The Cobras went up against the South Florida Thunder the '08 Spring  Season TC Division Champion and what a game it was as they both fought hard, but in the end the Cobras defeated the Thunder to take the title.

The 13under had some of best games played of the tournament, and a few of them when the extra mile as they say,but in the end Cooperstown runner-up Miramar Canes rallied in the top of the seventh Inning to tie the Weston Rattlers at a 13-13 and would go on to defeat the Rattlers in extra Innings to capture the Tournament Championship. The Rattlers fought off the tough and talented West Boca Panthers in 3-2 game, they would then go against the Sandlot and this game would go extra Innings as well in 1-0 affair.

The 14Under Division went to the CS Diamonds...............this was no surprise, but what was expected, as the Diamonds cruised in this tournament and fought the Cooper City Cowboys in the finals for a 8-2 win. The Cowboys had Impressive wins in this tournament over the SF Extreme and the Broward Barracudas.

On another Impressive stat, despite having teams from the North, & South and and four different leagues all Tournament Champions all play in the FPBL and with the exception of the 13U division all runner-up teams also play in the FPBL.
