The two teams played it to the very end in a tightly contested  game, with the Hawks leading 4-3 in the top of the fifth Inning, Hawks Coach Eric Sage asked for a squeeze play, but the Broncos new it was coming and the pitch was thrown low and away, but a terrific save by the hitter prevented the runner from third base to be thrown out at the plate when he was able to foul off the pitch. The Hawks would try a second attempt, but the Broncos again would pitch out of the strike zone and the batter fouled it off one more time. The Hawks would end up scoring that run on a sacrifice fly to right field and would win the their first league game 5-3 while the Broncos drop to 0-2 for the season.
