Let the Games Begin............................and a bit of FPBL History


Only 7 at one time !.......that's how many coaches we had in our first season

Over 100 teams will duke it out this week for a chance to take the FPBL League Title. Although it may not seem a  huge accomplishments to some but to all of involved in YOUTH BASEBALL it's BIG !!

Here are a few notes from years past and some notable accomplishments by Coaches in th the league.

  1. Do you know who holds the longest Coaching tenure in the league? 
    Alex Fernandez head coach of the 10u PL Bulldogs is on his second go around.
  2. What team holds the longest winning streak in the League?
    The 2006 PPO Bengals/ Mike White won 36 straight League Games and has been the only team to run the table undefeated and won it two consecutive seasons.
  3. What team holds the Most consecutive FPBL League Championships?                                                                              The 2003/06 Broward Canes won 5-Consecutive Championships.
  4. Currently who has the longest streak of League Championships? The PL Bulldogs have won two straight
  5. Who's been the only FPBL Team while playing in the league that's won the Cooperstown Tournament?
    FPBL  2005 Broward Bulldogs 
    TC Division- West Boyton Wolverines/ Kayne Mitchell                                                         
  6. Do you know the teams that were the first one's to play in the FPBL?
    • Cooper City Cowboys  / Nick Trooning
    • Miami Mudcats / Javier Vazquez
    • Broward Storm  / Gary Spencer
    •  Broward Bulldogs / Alex Fernandez
    •  Deerfield  Huskies  / Steve DeMatties  
    •  Broward Canes    / Gaspar Palmer  
    •  Plantation Stars                                                     
It was because of these guys that we have the FPBL League Today!

This High School Year many of the players that started in the FPBL are Juniors and there are a few out there that are being recognized in many of the scouting sites and could be drafted for the MLB.............how  awesome that would be !!
