Boynton Thunder Victorious In Thanksgiving Tournament
The 9-U West Boynton Thunder won the Florida USSSA Jupiter Thanksgiving
Tournament with an impressive 12-0 victory over the Jupiter Hammerheads. The
West Boynton Thunder and the Jupiter Hammerheads fought off stiff competition
from the Lake Worth Sringrays, Okeeheelee Canes, Palm Beach Gardens Thunder and
Wellington Warriors to make it into the Championship Round.
Participating
in just their first tourney, the number-one seeded West Boynton Thunder led in
12 of their 15 innings played and outscored their opposition by 47 to 10 runs to
finish with a 4-0 record.
All teammates contributed, with excellent
pitching by Bailey Weeks, Joshua Dubinsky and Zack (Sparky) Brundage for a combined 23 strikeouts, extra base hits
coming from Carson Warrix (triple),
Connor Smith (double) , Justin Anglin (double), Shane Tomlinson (double) and
Zack (Sparky) Brundage (2 home runs, 2 doubles), and stellar fielding from Brett Kaplan, Samantha Zuckerberg, Tyler
Townsend and Zachary (Chance) Shepard.
