9u Florida Pokers on a roll in the FPBL..........................


After taking the fall season off, The 2008 AABC Roberto Clemente Florida State Champions, The Florida Pokers, have returned to form.  The Pokers are now unbeaten in their last 10 games and have won 14 of their last 17 games to post a 19-8 record on the season (10-3 in the FPBL 9u Majors
Division).

On Sunday The Pokers knocked off the last of the unbeatens in the 9u division by defeating Wellington Gold 13-5 and 13-4.

The dominating pitching of Luke Reidy in game one earned him his team leading 6th win of the season. Jarrett Hall and Christian Scott combined to pitch 4 shutout innings in relief during game 2 of the doubleheader.

Other highlights for the Pokers on the day:  Caleb Roberts 5 for 8 (1st homerun of the season), Earl Semper 5 for 7 (6 Stolen bases), Christian Scott 4 for 6,  Luke Reidy 3 for 5, Riley Allison 3 for 7, Shane Magrann 2
for 4, Jake Hershkowitz 2 for 5, Robert Joy 2 for 5 and Jarrett Hall 1 for 5.

The Pokers combined to go 27 for 52 (.519) in the 2 games.

Eddie Ayala and Andrew Jenner who were not there yesterday have helped
contribute to the Pokers hot run over the past month.
