9u WB Thunder Quietly Having A Great Season


Although it may be just their second season, the 9U West Boynton Thunder is in second place in the AAA Division sporting an 11-3 record.

 

The team is anchored by the dynamic duo of Zack Brundage and Josh Dubinsky who alternate as the team’s shortstop / starting pitcher.  Zack leads the team in league wins with 5 (as well as a save) while Josh leads the team in innings pitched and has 4 league wins.  The battery mates for the pitchers are Brett Kaplan and Conor Smith.

 

The team’s leadoff hitter and third baseman is Justin Anglin who leads the team in runs and is near the top in on base percentage and stolen bases.  Josh Dubinsky, who bats second, is near the top in runs and RBIs.  Zack Brundage bats third and leads the team in batting average, slugging percentage and RBIs.  In the clean-up position is the starting 2nd baseman JJ Gonzales who is near the top of the team in several offensive categories including batting average and slugging percentage.  Carson Warrix, starting center fielder bats fifth and is a vacuum cleaner defensively.  Batting sixth Shane Tomlinson, starting first baseman and pitcher, is the team’s fireballer on the mound.  Batting seventh is Conor Smith who is near the top of the team in RBIs and stolen bases.  In the eighth spot is Peyton Harmon, left fielder and relief pitcher, who threatens to knock the cover off the ball with every at bat.  Batting ninth is Brett Kaplan who has the penchant for timely hits in critical situations.  Batting tenth is lefty Tyler Townsend who plays right field and is a relief pitcher.  Substitutes are Chance Shepard and Steve Smith.

 

The team is managed by Mike Kaplan and is assisted by Ryan Anglin, Chris Townsend and Chris Warrix.
