2009 Spring Season Championships of many Surprises and lots of first time Champion.............

8u Champs Again !

In the history of the FPBL we have never had in any one season as many undefeated teams going into the playoffs as we did this season (3) and never have we had so  many top seed/division champions go down in the playoffs.

In these playoffs we'll have crowned a possible 12 of 15 first time Champion. This may depend on the results of the divisions yet to be played.

In  league playoffs, In most cases the team that wins their division usually takes home the "Harware"  but this season, of all the Divisions Majors & AAA only the 8u Weston Hawks repeated as Champion. In most divisions, last season Champions where not even around by the time we got the Championship Game.

The 8u Weston Hawks defeated their cross town rival Weston Rattlers in a very close and fun game to watch. The 9u Majors had the Florida Pokers winners of the USSSA Super NIT Qualifier take their first FPBL title wining over the West Pines Cobras, while the 9u AAA Parkland Pokers got their first FPBL title by defeating the WB Thunder.

The 10u Majors had the PL Bulldogs going for their fourth consecutive FPBL title come a bit short when the West Pines Cobras defeated them to capture their first FPBL title. The classic battle in the 10u AAA between once beaten Mizuno and the West Boca Panthers went to Mizuno in a 3-1contest giving Mizuno, their first title.
The 11u Majors had the Pro-Ball Cobras defeating the SF Stealth 3-2 In extra innings to capture their first title in the league, while the 11u AAA had the PL Bulldogs take their first crown against Pasadena.

The 12u Majors had another classic battle between the Dynasty Elite against the Panthers Baseball team, with Dynasty winning their 2nd  FPBL tilte in the last four seasons. The 12u AAA Plantation Stars defeated the Weston Rattlers to win their first FPBL title.

The 13u AAA Division went to the Weston Hawks over the Weston Rattlers, they too win for the first time. The 13u Majors is to be played on Monday between the Rattlers against the PPO Reddogs. The Broward Eagles were strong on their way to winning their Championship as they defeated the SF Braves.

So, after all of this............Is there parity in the league?

The Majors Championship was postponed and will be played on Monday night.
