Panthers Baseball Make it to the Final Four in Cooperstown..................

Playing in the most competitive week of the year at Cooperstown with four of the top sixteen teams in the country according to Travel Baseball Select, FPBL's Panthers Baseball finished in a tie for 3rd making it to the final four out of a field of 102 teams.

Panthers Baseball based out of Coral Springs and a 4 year participant in FPBL finished the 6 game pool play with a 5 - 1 record and seeded 16.  In the round of 32 in elimination play the Panthers beat a pesky Alamo Blues Team from California 3-2.  Then in the sweet sixteen the Panthers overcame a 3 run deficit with an offensive explosion and beat the 17th seeded Virginia Thunder 17 -8.  In the quarterfinals the Cats faced #1 seed and 16th rank nationally West Chester Sluggers and pounded out a convincing 13 - 5 victory.  It was the Sluggers first defeat in their last 17 games dating back to April.  The Panthers were not done yet as they carried their momentum into the quarterfinals and beat the high powered Bullets Baseball out of Tampa 13 - 8.  The Panthers then faced the mighty Chiefs who have been ranked as high as #3 in the country in 2009.  The 11 gritty Panthers battled the Chiefs hard but were no match for the bigger and stronger Chiefs with their deep roster of hired guns.
