Let's Play Ball !!............USSSA Sunshine Sate Games Tryouts Coming to South Florida
After weeks of gathering the troops as they say, the Florida Premier Baseball League had its Fall Season Managers Meeting with an estimated 300 Coaches in attendance in both sessions. USSSA Assistant State Tournament Director Bert Holloway was on hand to talk USSSA Baseball.
USSSA will announce next week the Sunshine State Games, these games will be played in Orlando and there will be Regional Tryouts for kids in the 11u, 12u & 13u Divisions. More Information to follow.
The league is going away from the Majors & AAA Divisions in the fall..............what we've done is made three conferences within an age group, this will allow teams to play against teams from their area and at their level.
The divisions were broken up into American, National & International with the top 4 teams in each conference advancing to the playoffs. Teams making the playoffs will be given an opportunity to play in the Majors Division in the Spring season, this in my opinion takes the guessing out of who's a majors team and who's a AAA team. The league has establish a criteria for those teams looking to play in the Majors next season. We feel that teams should compete at their level and this will separate the teams from the Majors & AAA and therefore take take away the responsibility of the League Director on choosing who's a Major's or AA team.
Overall an exciting meeting with lots of Baseball to be played in the Fall....So to everyone that has chosen to play in the FPBL, Thank you !
