10U Rattlers Improve to 9-1

Weston Rattlers: Rattler News
wow2
The Weston Rattlers 10U "Maroon" Team (now 9-2) did what it does best this past weekend...WIN!
The team is really coming together, as it took care care of the Pembroke Lakes Mudcats and the Cooper City Cowboys, winning the games, 7-1 and 19-5, respectively.  When the Mudcats ventured onto our home field, Tommy "Big Papi" Taborda demonstrated a cool head on the mound and dominated them for 4 innings.  The game went 5 innings, as the team batted .500 (10 for 20 at the plate)!  Three players (Perry Littrell, Brett Kean and Freddie "Choppy" Sultan) went 2 for 3.  After giving up the Mudcats only run in the first, Tommy and his defense didn't allow them to see home plate again.  Evan Klugerman, who is starting to show more and more pitching expertise, closed the game without fanfare.
On Saturday evening, the Copper City Cowboys rode into Tequesta and experienced the venom of the Rattlers bite!  For the first three innings (the game only went 4), Choppy pitched a no-hitter, that included 1 walk and 6 strikeouts!  Between Brett Kean and Evan Klugerman, they eventually closed out the game.  The bats came alive in the 4th inning, scoring 10 runs and batting around the order.  Rafael "Rafa" Amanau lead off the inning that included big hits from Richard Labarca and Danny Velez.  Richard Labarca has shown great production at the 6th spot, batting in several runners this game.  In the end the Rattlers, once again, batted .500 that evening, going 13 for 26.
