In a game that had a playoff feel, the 2 top teams in the 14U International division battled it out. Coming into the game, both team only had 1 loss in the division.
The last time the teams faced, the Bulldogs came out on top, 5-3. This time the game was played on the Cobras home turf, and that may have been the difference.
Adam Murray picthed a gem, only allowing 2 hits. The Bulldogs only run scored after a 6th inning lead-off double, followed by 3 consecutive Cobra errors. Murray stayed poised and got out of the bases loaded jam.
The Bulldogs pitcher, Andres Nunez, also pitched well in defeat. The Cobras scored 1 run in the first inning on a passed ball, and then got the second run the same way in the 5th. The Cobras only managed 3 hits, but a few key walks helped generate runs.
All in all, it was a great game featuring 2 playoff bound teams. There a few games left for both teams, let's see how this finishes.
