USSSA

Another weekend where mother nature gets Baseball Tournament Directors to seek out USSSA Shoot-out Rule. After  last weekend's Tamiami's NIT Event, where the cold weather and an all day rain on Saturday forced Tournament Director Humberto Bencomo to go to the Shoot-out rule, which is done to attempt to finish an event whenever inclement weather becomes an issue. Humberto's USSSA NIT Event was completed and played under 30's degree weather and the last game being played at 9:00PM, now spring forward to the Canes tournament this weekend and on Sunday mother nature again Interferes with a bit of rain and in an effort to catch-up and complete the event we went to the Shoot-out. Although the shoot-out is a 45 minute game, It was decided that in an effort to catch-up we did not need to take the time limit that far down so an 1:15 minute shoot-out was approved and despite the efforts the 13's & 14's were not completed last night, but arrangements were made to have the games played to night.

The goal of every Tournament Director is to see that the games are played and a champion is declared. We have all played in many tournaments where in some cases after two games the tournament has been called off, "but not here says Tournament Director Humberto Bencomo and Canes Tournament Director Carlos Guzman...............we want make sure that they get whatt they paid for and that's to play baseball"
