9U Battle of the unbeaten
When it was all said and done on Sunday, Mo Steel Baseball remained as one of the teams still undefeated in the 9U Division. Going into Sunday the RPB Piranhas, Florida Pokers and Mo Steel Baseball all found themselves without a loss this season. In the first game of the round robin Mo Steel Baseball defeated the RPB Piranhas 8-2 behind a complete game performance from Armando Sierra who through six innings allowed three hits, two runs with out giving up a walk. The second game of the round robin featured the Florida Pokers versus the RPB Piranaz. The Piranhas jumped out to an early lead only to see the Pokers come back and make it close, however the Piranhas scored some runs late and never looked back final score Piranhas 13, Pokers 8. The final game of the day featured the Florida Pokers versus Mo Steel Baseball. Up 1-0 in the second inning Mo Steel Baseball scored 6 runs in the second inning to pull away and win the game by a final score of 13-0. Again another great pitching performance this time by Carlos (Kike) Fernandez who pitched a complete game shutout allowing 3hits, 2walks, and striking out 4. It makes your job as a manager easier when you get pitching performances like the ones we got on Sunday from our pitching staff. Offensively OJ Borotto led the team going a combined 5 at bats with 2hits, 1double and 3 runs batted in. The beauty of this is all three teams will do it again next Sunday.
