The O's take Machado third

6/7/10: A player's dream comes true. Watching him grow up and having him played with us in several tournaments back when he was just 12 years old I couldn't be happier for him and his mother Rosa. When the Orioles took him as the third pick over I jumped out of my couch with joy and happiness for a family who's hard work has paid off. Rosa is a single parent that has raised her son alone and has always been there for him and today she should be proud of not only Manny but of her self for the for doing what she's done as a mother and that is raised one heck of young man In Manny Machado. Congratulations to Manny & Rosa.

Another former FPBL player was chosen as the # 44 pick over all by the Detroit Tigers and that was Nick Castellanos. Nick played his high school baseball at Archbishop McCarthy and now will have a decision to make and that is either go Pro or play for the University of Miami.

Congratulations to both players & families.

Round # 2 of the MLB Draft will continue today and we expect some more local & FPBL players to go in later rounds.
