All South Florida Teams Showdown in USSSA Elite 32 World Series
Several 10u teams from the league played very well during the tournament.
Congratulations to the West Pines Cobras (13th) coached by Fred Matos, and
Florida Pokers 5th place coached by Lenny Roberts. Three of the Final 4 teams
in the Elite World Series hailed from the state of Florida. Miami Brawlers
(1st), Team Piranaz (2nd), and Fl Legends (3rd). All the best to Robert Montes
and the Miami Brawlers for putting together a very formidable team. 3 players
from the FPBL 2010 league captured tournament honors. Joey Perez tournament MVP
(Brawlers), Tristan Casas offensive MVP (Brawlers), and Xavier Edwards defensive
MVP (Piranaz). The Brawlers played great baseball all week long compiling a 9-1
record on their way to the championship.
The Brawlers faced some of the best
10u teams in the country along the way. With victories over the San Diego Stars
(Cooperstown Runner up 2010), Fl Legends arguably the best 10u travel team
around and the Charlotte Megastars twice (Cooperstown Champion 2010) and Elite
32 9u Championship 2009 along with the Piranaz. The Miami Brawlers sit alone as
the best 10u travel team in the nation.
The Piranaz represented the FPBL
extremely well finishing 2nd in the 2010 10u Elite 32 World Series. The Piranaz
entered the championship game as the only undefeated team in the tournament. A
special note to the Piranaz players. The Piranaz were the only team in the
final 4 to compete in the tournament with the same players they used for their
league season and Super NIT qualifiers. Congratulations to the Piranaz coaches
team manager Gary Chase,Leroy Houck, Warren Von Werne, and Jeff Fox. The
current USSSA rankings have the Piranaz #1 in the nation in points and 3rd in
power rating. The Brawlers are currently #1 in power rating and 3rd in points.
Overall these are great accomplishments for the players and coaches. Hopefully
2011 will bring as much success for the Florida Premier league in every age
group. Go FPBL!!!
Congratulations to all of the Teams...Great Job Guys !!
