The 13U Sandlot has climbed to an 8-1 record this season. The Sandlot is currently trained by Pembroke Pines, Gary Nixon. With the help of Nixon, the Sandlot has improved in every aspect of the game. Nixon not only teaches the fundamentals of baseball but works on strategy as well. The workouts are intense and the players love it. They know they are learning everything they need to succeed at a higher level. Due to the structured training, and hard work, the defense is getting stronger with every practice and the pitching is getting deeper with every bullpen session. Offensively, they are coming up with the key hits, and showing discipline at the plate. Combined with Nixon's training, the team is managed by Dale Stouffer and Gary Van Sciver, two men with extensive knowledge of the game. Although, there is still much work to be done, the Sandlot is ready and willing to continue to work hard.
