Last two Unbeatens go down...............

FPBL Staff Writer

Last week when I first looked at the standings and saw that there were 7 seven unbeaten teams  I said to myself, well there is a good chance that we'll get another wire to wire champion this season, but in a league, where the competition is very good from top to bottom that is not an easy task.

Well, the last two unbeaten teams went down this week as the 10u Mo Steel/Mambises lost to the PPO Bengals 7-5 and the Weston Hawks Elite suffered it's first loss of the season to the Boca Thunder by the Identical score of 7-5.

Mo Steel / Mambises was the last team to go wire to wire as a 9u team tey did it and have won 43 of their last 45 league games.

The 14u Weston Hawks Elite one of the top teams in the country fell for the first time this season  to the Boca Thunder.

The Thunder jumped out to an early 4-1 lead, but the Hawks battled back again to even the score. In the 7th Inning the Thunder scored two runs and then held the Hawks scoreless in their last at bat to claim the hard fought victory. Both teams have one loss in their league play as they battle for the top spot in their division.

All four of these teams are playing in the Fall Nationals this weekend coming, but Mo Steel / Mambises opted to move up in age class, while the Hawks looks to avenge their loss and yet capture another USSSA Tournament win.

Good Luck to ALL !!!!
